Research shows that yoga can lower blood pressure and help you manage stress, which can benefit heart health. Benefits include increased flexibility, weight reduction, improvements in energy and mood, and it’s good for your heart. For example, people with atrial fibrillation, an irregular heart rhythm, had significantly lower blood pressure and heart rates after they practiced 30 minutes of light yoga weekly for 12 weeks, according to a study published March of 2016 in The European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. Researchers also reported, Yoga significantly improved their mental health and quality of life.
