Sarah Rucker, NP-C

 

Biography

Sarah’s fascination with medicine ignited during her upbringing, surrounded by family members in healthcare professions including pediatric critical care nursing and physical therapy. Her journey into the medical field began in high school through volunteer work at a local hospital, where she shadowed various specialties and discovered her passion for cardiology. She pursued her undergraduate education at Morehead State University in Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. Following graduation, she embarked on a decade-long career at Advent Health in Orlando, serving as a registered nurse primarily in the cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit and cardiac/lung transplantation. During this time, she collaborated closely with nurse practitioners and physician assistants, which inspired her to pursue further education and training.

In 2021, Sarah graduated from the University of South Alabama with a dual master’s degree in Acute Care and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, achieving board certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She began her nurse practitioner career at Orlando Health, specializing in cardiology and providing care across various hospital settings including the emergency room, intensive care unit, progressive care unit, and pre/postpartum settings.

Driven by commitment to continuous learning and advancement, Sarah completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a sub-specialty in cardiology in 2023. Sarah joined Cardiovascular Interventions in June of 2024 to pursue further learning and teaching opportunities in the outpatient setting, focusing on incorporating advanced invasive cardiology treatments alongside patient education in diet and healthy lifestyles.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Sarah resides in Orlando with her husband, son, and beloved dog. She finds joy in spending quality time with friends and family and pursues her passions for running, golf, and traveling in free time.
